Hartsel Hit String Snapped at 31:
UCF Knights left fielder Topsy Hartsel finally met his Waterloo.
A 31-game hitting spree is now history after Hartsel was unable to make anything happen in 3 at-bats today against the Maryland Terrapins. Fortunately for Hartsel and the Knights, the rest of his team had enough in their bats to win the game 3-0.
"We're a true team here," he said. "For 31 games I've been able to contribute, but I always believed these guys would take care of things if I couldn't some day."
This season Hartsel is batting .359 with 88 RBIs, 75 runs scored and 27 home runs.
