Hartsel Runs Hit String to 30 Straight Games:
Topsy Hartsel collected 2 hits in today's game and extended his hitting streak to 30 games. His club, the UCF Knights, beat the Houston Cougars 7-4.
"Right now, when they throw me the ball, it looks the size of a softball," Hartsel quipped to a BNN reporter after the game. "I'm excited about how things are clicking."
Topsy Hartsel hit a solo-shot off Bob Welch in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, walked in the 7th and walked in the 8th.
This season Hartsel is swinging the bat at a .364 rate with 106 hits in 291 at-bats. To date he has hit 27 home runs, scored 75 runs and driven in 86.
