Stanford Sweeps into the Semifinals:
On the strength of a 4-3 win at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field, the Stanford Cardinal have swept the Oregon State Beavers to win the Super Regionals.
"We expected to win, but I don't think we anticipated taking the series 2-0," said series MVP Drew Godwin. "That's a fantastic team over there, but we wouldn't be denied."
For the series, Godwin had a 0.00 ERA over 7 innings pitched, with a 1-0 record.
The Stanford Cardinal don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the NC State Wolfpack - East Carolina Pirates series. That series is tied at 1 game apiece. The Semifinals schedule will be announced after the Super Regionals finishes.
