Regionals Goes the Distance, South Carolina Prevails:
In an exciting Regionals that had its fair share of drama and intrigue, perhaps it is NCAA fans who have come out the winner.
But on the field, the winners were the South Carolina Gamecocks, who edged the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos 2-1 to advance to the Super Regionals.
South Carolina won the final game by a 8-7 count to wrap up the series. Charlie Reilly earned series MVP honors, by hitting .500 with a .571 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The South Carolina Gamecocks will play against the Florida Atlantic Owls in the next round. Florida Atlantic won their series against the Portland State Vikings 2 games to 1. The Super Regionals schedule will be announced after the Regionals finishes.
