Orioles 10, Pirates 2. Pedro Severino helped the O's demolish the Pirates by hitting a grand slam and driving in six runs on the day. Severino and Hanser Alberto each had three hits. 33-year-old Tyler Herron got the win in his second career start.

Royals 8, Blue Jays 2. Jorge Soler homered and Brett Phillips reached base four times to lead the Royals to victory. Brad Keller went five innings for the win, though he didn't strike out anyone.

Tigers 7, Angels 3. Matthew Boyd racked up eleven strikeouts and allowed just one run over 7 2/3 innings in getting his third win. Jacob Robson had three hits and Eric Haase homered for Detroit.

White Sox 7, Twins 3. Leury Garcia hit a grand slam and drove in six on the day as the Sox beat the Twins. Ehire Adrianza had a three-run homer for Minnesota. Gio Gonzalez struck out nine over six innings to get the win.

Astros 8, Rangers 7. Robinson Chirinos put the Rangers up with a first-inning grand slam, but George Springer's three-run blast in the fifth tied the score, and the Astros picked up another run the next inning to get the win. Each starter was knocked around for seven runs, but Joe Smith got the victory with two scoreless innings for Houston.

Yankees 4, Athletics 2. Gerrit Cole moved to 4-0 by striking out twelve in 6 2/3 innings; he leads the league with 39 on the season. D.J. LeMahieu homered and Mike Tauchman had three hits for the Yanks.

Red Sox 9, Mariners 2. Nathan Eovaldi pitched a complete game in pitching up his third win of the season. Michael Chavis and Christian Vazquez both homered and had three hits.

Phillies 16, Reds 6 (11 innings). Yep, the Phillies scored ten runs in the eleventh inning to beat the Reds. Bryce Harper hit a grand slam and Jay Bruce also homered in the big inning. Reliever Sal Romano incurred all ten earned runs, and the Reds eventually called in Sonny Gray to mop up the last out.

Marlins 2, Braves 1. The Marlins stunned the Braves by scoring two runs off Chris Martin. The winning run scored on a fielder's choice where shortstop Adeinys Hechevarria was unable to get the out at home. Pablo Lopez pitched 6 2/3 strong innings, and Taylor Rogers got the win with two scoreless innings.

Brewers 10, Mets 8. This was a seesaw affair in which the Mets took the lead in the seventh with a Michael Conforto grand slam, and the Brewers came right back in the eighth with a bases-clearing double off the bat of Christian Yelich. Lorenzo Cain had three hits, and Brock Holt also homered and drove in three.

Rockies 3, Diamondbacks 2. The Rockies barely held off the D-Backs in the ninth inning, with Bryan Shaw stranding the tying run at third base with a a groundout. Madison Bumgarner took a very tough loss, allowing just one run in seven innings and striking out twelve. Jeff Hoffman allowed just one run in 8 1/3 innings and lowered his ERA to 1.21.

Padres 4, Giants 3 (10 innings- game one). The Padres came back by scoring single runs in the seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth innings in the first game of a doubleheader. The Padres tied the score with a sac fly off the bat of Juan Lagares, and won the game in the next inning with a Jurickson Profar double. Billy Hamilton's two-run double had helped the Giants to the lead.

Padres 4, Giants 3 (15 innings- game two). This was a truly spirit-crushing defeat, as the Giants fell to 4-12. With the game tied at two after nine innings, the Giants took the lead in the eleventh with a home run by Melky Cabrera. Nick Vincent coughed up a home run to light-hitting Greg Garcia in the bottom of the inning. The Giants loaded the bases in top of the fourteenth, but Andres Munoz struck out Rob Brantly to end the threat. Finally, in the next inning, Jurickson Profar slammed a home run to right field for his second walk-off hit of the day!!! Joey Lucchesi managed to pitch into the tenth inning (!) on only 91 pitches, and the Padres managed only six hits in the extra-inning win.

Dodgers 10, Nationals 2. Mookie Betts had a three-run home run in the first inning en route to a four-hit day. Justin Turner also had four hits, and Cody Bellinger and Max Muncy both homered as well. Julio Urias had to leave the game with wrist soreness after the first batter, but the Dodger bullpen was able to piece things together for the win.

Cardinals 3, Cubs 0. Jack Flaherty pitched seven scoreless innings for the win. The Cards scored their runs on three solo homers by Kolten Wong, Harrison Bader and Yadier Molina.

Rays vs Indians was cancelled due to rain.
