Here Comes RABA and its IPO

What is RABA - RABA WEBSITE for more info (in flux of ongoing development) (See RULES which contains a lot of the below, plus additional detailed information...)

RABA caters to all types of GM's from the newest newbie, to the most skilled veterans of the game... So get registered...

If Interested PM me here or go to the CONTACT Page at website…. Looking at a May 3rd Start... League will utilize Slack for communications, StatsPlus for all its goodies, Website/Reports/Draft Trade Tables/etc ... Will be using the new in-game Trade Feature...and other items to assist in a completely fun experience...

A quick background on how RABA has gotten to January 1st, 1910. RABA was originally setup in 1901 with 16 Organizations, each with a ML, Triple A, and Single A team forming the franchises. An initial draft was setup before the start of 1901’s season. The Draft Pool consisted of players from 1890-2018 from a Random Draft in a test league I created. The AI performed a serpentine draft for 75 Rounds and the franchises were formed.

A main thing became obvious; 95% of the players were 24 and under, with only a few moving in on their 30’s. I decided to Setup First year player drafts of 12 rounds and 15 rounds of Random Debut players… I then ran 10 seasons of AI to develop a core of players with ages, etc more realistic for a startup… in fact in the 1910 Inaugural Draft, 47 yr old Cap Anson is on the downside of his career but is still a good player… There are only a handful of other players over 40 yrs old who will probably be drafted, some I will convert into ‘Personal/Managers/Coaches/etc’ after the draft…

One of the things I wanted in this league is a good 'buy in' from the core group of GMs… I proceeded to release all players (they are dumped into the Inaugural draft pool), I removed all history of the 10 AI seasons. So in theory RABA is an upstart league in 1910, granted HOFers wont be ready for a good 12-15-18 years, but season and career records will start on day 1. This way the GMs are basically in charge of their franchise as a blank slate from day 1

The Inaugural Draft will be 90 Rounds (serpentine) performed in StatsPlus on Kickoff Sunday (Approximately May 3rd, 2020). Draftee’s are currently available for preliminary review at the RABA Website. The are grouped by Batters and Pitchers. Note there is no overall rating in this league, only a potential rating of 20-80(5 point increments), although all other player ratings are on a 1-100 scale.

All Scouting and Coaching is turned on, but the organizations will have to bid on Scouts and Coaches, etc after the Inaugural Draft. Thus all ratings at this point are OSA, meaning all the GM’s will have the same data/accuracy on players in this draft. After that Scouts, Managers, Coaches, Trainers will be your own hires….

List of BATTERS and PITCHERS in the Inaugural Draft (Give pages a second to load...)

As far as the future, I am big on letting the whole league decide on certain aspects, such as expansion (Major and Minor), Re-location and branding, roster aspects, etc... (edited)

SIM INFO

Sims are one week long during the regular season (exceptions include sims to deadlines) and are run on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.. Currently around 0800 EST (Tuesday) 1100 EST (Wednesday) and Fridays SIM will be around 1330 EST. Exports are due 1 hour before the SIM time. I try to announce in advance if sim times are going to change. Completed SIMs will be posted in the forum; League Sim Info (all info posted will also transfer to the Slack channel #sim_info_and_schedule). On occasion that I cant post a change in Schedule, just please be patience.

Off season sims lengths vary - generally will be 5-20 days (depending on what league events are involved most of the time they are 7 days) and if possible will be run every day, except Sundays, around 0800 EST to 1330 EST depending on the day. The offseason sim schedule will be posted in the RABA website (HERE) and via the Slackbot with a ‘?Schedule’ (Sample OFF SEASON SCHEDULE)

Playoffs usually run every day, and the playoff schedule will be posted within the off-season schedule (see above).. For the Playoffs and World Series if both players agree, we can generally run multiple sims and move through the WS quickly. These games will be run as Live Sims at a slower than normal pace or potentially as a LIVE 3D Broadcast for special game 7’s or All-Star games. Might also run special 'Replays in 3D' at night from 'Games of the Week'

I'll try to keep everyone informed but please bear with me. I will try to run regular Live Sim’s if my schedule allows it. All SIMs will be LIVE unless noted.
