In the top of the first, McNeely threw Meusel out at home as he tagged up and tried to score on a Ruth fly ball.

In the bottom of the thirteenth, the Senators tied the game when two runs scored on a Lazzeri throwing error after fielding a grounder by pinch hitter Stuffy Stewart. Myer followed with a triple to end the game.
The two teams combined for 26 hits and the Yankees committed five errors.
