Tonight is the second game in the series in Seattle between the Mariners and the Texas Rangers. The Rangers have lost five straight.
Chicago White Sox RP Antonio Osuna will miss nine months due to a torn elbow ligament.

In the top of the first, Palmeiro put the Rangers on the board with a two-out RBI double. The Rangers went on to load the bases with two out. Garcia then struck out Caminiti to retire the side. All three Rangers outs in the inning were via strikeout.
In the bottom of the first, Olerud tied the game with a two-out RBI single. Bell followed with a two-run double to put the Mariners in the lead.
In the bottom of the second, Cameron got an RBI single. The Mariners went on to load the bases with one out. Boone delivered a two-run single. Olerud followed with a 411 foot three-run longball. With bases empty and one out, Joaquin Benoit took the mound for the Rangers. Bell greeted him with a 414 foot shot to give the Mariners back-to-back home runs. In all, the Mariners wound up with a seven-run inning.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Mariners scored a run on a Bell double. The Mariners again loaded the bases with one out. Wilson brought a run in with a sacrifice fly.
In the bottom of the fifth, Ricky Ledee took the mound for the Rangers.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Mariners loaded the bases with nobody out. McLemore grounded into the 5-4 fielder's choice to bring home a run. A walk reloaded the bases with one out. Cameron flew to center for the second out without bringing home a run. Suzuki then grounded to second to end the inning.
After six: Seattle 13 Texas 1.
In the top of the seventh, Mirabelli hit a solo home run 354 feet.
In the bottom of the seventh, Boone got a run-scoring double. With runners on first and second and one out, Mike Lamb took the mound for the Rangers. Guillen greeted him with an RBI single. Two more runs scored when Lamb made a throwing error after fielding a grounder hit by pinch hitter Jay Buhner.
In the top of the eighth, Arthur Rhodes took the mound for the Mariners. Palmeiro delivered a two-run bomb 384 feet.
In the bottom of the eighth, Ed Sprague Jr delivered a run-scoring single. Bell picked up an RBI with a sacrifice fly. Buhner hit a two-out RBI single.
The Mariners out-hit the Rangers 18-8 in the win. Garcia recorded 10 strikeouts. Rangers pitchers issued 10 walks.
Final score: Seattle 20 Texas 4.
