Superb Year for Loper, Wins Most Valuable Player Award:
West Virginia's Eddie Loper put the wraps on a fine campaign today by winning the 2022 American League Most Valuable Player Award.
The 32-year-old veteran scorched the opposition with a .317 average, picking up 186 hits, 25 doubles, 3 triples, 57 home runs and 148 RBIs, while scoring 119 runs.
He received 35 first place votes out of a possible 119. Casey Youngblood of the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos finished second in voting with 34 first place votes, while Jaylin Fletcher of the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos finished third with 25 first place votes.
