Scott Presented AL Rookie of the Year Award:
Today the BBN baseball writers announced the winner of the American League Rookie of the Year Award. The premier rookie in 2022 was UC Irvine first baseman George C Scott.
He finished the regular season with a .212 batting average, 13 doubles, 2 triples and 52 home runs. Scott also had 106 RBIs and scored 86 times.
He received 61 first place votes out of a possible 119. Charles Bender of the Long Beach State Dirtbags finished second in voting with 27 first place votes, while Frank E Smith of the Charlotte 49ers finished third with 11 first place votes.
