The Yankees will try to complete the three-game sweep when they host the Washington Senators today. The Yankees overcame four errors in each of their wins in the first two games of this series. The Yankees have committed the most errors of any team in the American League so far this season.

In the bottom of the first, Gehrig put the Yankees on the board with an RBI single.
In the top of the third, Speaker tied the game with a two-out RBI double.

In the bottom of the fourth, with runners at first and third and nobody out, the Yankees put the squeeze play on with Shocker batting but Braxton threw Dugan out at home.
In the bottom of the fifth, Ruth led off with a 436 foot homer. It was career home run number 361, moving him to 20th all-time. Later in the inning, the Yankees tried another squeeze bunt but this time Koenig failed to make contact and Gehrig was tagged out at home.

In the top of the eighth, Speaker hit his third double of the game to tie an AL regular season game record. But he would be stranded at second.
In the bottom of the eighth, following a lead off walk, Lou Koupal took the mound for the Senators.
In the top of the ninth, down by one, the Senators loaded the bases with two out. Judge then gave the Senators the lead with a three-run triple.
In the bottom of the ninth, with a two-run lead, Firpo Marberry took the mound for the Senators. With a runner on first and two out, Gehrig flew to center to end the game.
The Yankees got 11 hits in the game.
