Tonight is the second game in the series in Texas between the Mariners and the Rangers. The Rangers have lost three straight.

In the top of the first, while trying to steal third, McLemore ended up scoring on an Ivan Rodriguez throwing error. Martinez hit an RBI single. Guillen hit a two-out RBI single and, on the play, Cameron scored from first on a Sierra throwing error. Bell brought Guillen home with a single to make it a five-run inning.

In the bottom of the first, Alex Rodriguez put the Rangers on the board with an RBI single. Palmeiro followed with a two-run double.

In the bottom of the second, Sierra tied the game with a two-out two-run homer.

In the bottom of the third, Palmeiro put the Rangers in the lead with a lead off 368 foot homer.

After three: Texas 6 Seattle 5.

In the bottom of the fourth, Joel Pineiro took the mound for the Mariners.

In the top of the fifth, Cameron tied the game with a 388 foot solo home run. With bases empty and one out. Joaquin Benoit took the mound for the Rangers.

In the bottom of the fifth, Galarraga gave the Rangers the lead back with an RBI single. Cameron threw Palmeiro out at home when he tried to score from second on a Caminiti single to keep it a one-run game.

After six: Texas 7 Seattle 6.

In the top of the eighth, Mike Venafro took the mound for the Rangers. Guillen reached first on an error and then Tim Crabtree took the mound for the Rangers.

In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases empty and one out, Jeff Nelson took the mound for the Mariners. Catalanotto gave the Rangers a little breathing room with an RBI single.

In the top of the ninth, Jeff Zimmerman took the mound for the Rangers. Down by two, the Mariners loaded the bases with two out. Guillen then gave the Mariners the lead with a three-run double. With a runner on second and two out, Jonathan Johnson took the mound for the Rangers and got the final out of the frame.

In the bottom of ninth, Kazuhiro Sasaki took the mound for the Mariners. The Rangers loaded the bases with two out. But Velarde grounded to third to finally end this one.

The two teams combined for 24 hits and the Rangers made three errors.

Final score: Seattle 9 Texas 8.
