Today is the final game in the series in New York between the Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. The Yankees are looking to take three out of four.

The Yankees signed free agent 2B Andy Cohen to a minor league contract.

In the bottom of the first, the Yankees loaded the bases with two out. Lazzeri lined out to third and the Yankees got nothing.

In the bottom of the third, Combs put the Yankees on the board with an RBI single. Combs, however, was tagged out at home when the Yankees tried to put on the squeeze but Gehrig failed to make contact.

After three: New York 1 Boston 0.

In the top of the fourth, the pitcher MacFayden put the Red Sox in the lead with a two-out two-run double. Rigney brought MacFayden home with a single.

In the bottom of the fourth, Collins got an RBI single to make it a one-run game. Meusel tied the game with a sacrifice fly. Combs followed with a two-out RBI double to give the Yankees the lead back.

In the top of the fifth, Regan tied the game with a two-out RBI triple.

In the bottom of the sixth, Meusel put the Yankees in front once again as he delivered a run-scoring single. Ruth picked up an RBI single as well. With runners at the corners and one out, Herb Bradley took the mound for the Red Sox. After Ruth stole second, Gehrig was intentionally walked to load the bases with one out. Lazzeri made them pay with a two-run single.

After six: New York 8 Boston 4.

In the bottom of the eighth, Bradley struck out the side.

The Yankees used a 14-hit attack to overcome another four-error game.

Final score: New York 8 Boston 4.
