In a quick test I ran, I signed a player (not a very good one) to a split contract. He did not opt out of his contract and I believe I did carry the expense the whole season. At one point, I was going to release him and it said I was going to eat about $560k in salary. (This was in June. The original contract was $850k). That's not how it's supposed to work; he should only be paid that sum if he's on the major league roster.

EXACTLY! Thank you. Two possibilities at this point:
1. It’s a bug
2. At the end of the season, if the player was never called up, maybe that money gets subtracted from your total? It shouldn’t be that way, but maybe that’s how it’s done?
