Tonight is the second game in the series in Seattle between the Mariners and the Oakland Athletics. Carlos Guillen committed two of the Mariners three errors in their season-opening loss.

In the top of the second, Jeremy Giambi put the Athletics on the board first with a two-out RBI double.

Zito had a no-hitter through three.

Suzuki led off the bottom of the fourth with a single for the Mariners first hit of the game.

In the bottom of the fifth, Cameron tied the game with a solo home run.

After six: Oakland 1 Seattle 1.

In the top of the seventh, with runners at first and second and nobody out, Jeff Nelson took the mound for the Mariners. With runners at second and third and two out, Norm Charlton took the mound for the Mariners. Damon hit a clutch single to bring both runners home and give the Athletics the lead back.

In the bottom of the seventh, Bell tied the game with his own, two-out two-run single.

In the top of the eighth, following a lead off single, Arthur Rhodes took the mound for the Mariners.

In the top of the ninth, Kazuhiro Sasaki took the mound for the Mariners. On three walks, the Athletics loaded the bases with one out. Sasaki got Long swinging on a full count pitch for the second out. But Sasaki missed on a full count pitch to walk Jason Giambi and force in the go-ahead run. With bases loaded and two out, Joel Pineiro took the mound for the Mariners and struck out Chavez to retire the side.

In the bottom of the ninth, Jason Isringhausen took the mound for the Athletics. With the tying run on first and two out, pinch hitter Al L Martin flew to right to end the game.

Final score: Oakland 4 Seattle 3.
