When you go through the MSA list, you realize a couple of things:
1. There are a number of MSAS that are pretty spread out in terms of their population, where the largest city is 200,000 or less - and yet they have hundreds of thousands or millions in them.
2. There are a lot of half circle ballparks - and after a while, it becomes hard to be as creative with them. This stadium (
based on the home park of the UT-RGV team) has a few elements of Dodgers Stadium, but otherwise fits with the generic mid-modern field shape that was predominent 1950-1990.
The park itself is pretty big - 335 to the corners and 410 to center, so there will be lots of doubles and triples and depressed home run numbers.
