General manager only. I like to be able to fire the Manager for a spark if the team is headed down the wrong path for a couple years. Plus, with ‘Legacy mode’ you can still manage the lineups and rotations. I’ll generally let the manager handle that stuff but I like that I can jump in when a young guy needs playing time or a young arm needs to be in the rotation.

I’ll play all playoff games and big late season matchups. But generally throughout the season, I’ll put it on Real Time Sim for x20 or x40 and get through games that way. It helps me follow the storylines game to game and I can still get through a good amount of games at a pace that I like. Ultimately, I want to get through 15-20 seasons. So I have to keep the pace pretty good but still don’t want to lose all the storylines that develop throughout the season by paying attention to the games played. And it also allows me to make adjustments to the team if guys are hot/cold. And if call ups or demotions need to be made.

Only time I’ll sim chunks of the schedule is if the team is really bad. And itÂ’s clear we are headed for a last place type of season. Even then I wonÂ’t sim the whole season but may sim a few chunks of the schedule.
