Post Week 21. (38-84)

The new week started with a series against one of the best teams in the National League. And it was a one-run win for us. Losaiga has been improving which is a good sign thinking in the next season, and Ferrell had another save. Mike Ford has entered into a slump and his batting for .204 in 116 plate appearances. Miguel Rojas had good game driving 4 runs, with a key double in the 8th. Some roster moves as Michael Chavis, one the top prospects of the game who came via trade, was called up to the majors and Garret Cooper was optioned to AAA. Chavis will have regular action for the rest of the season in third base and Rojas will alternate at first with Ford.

August 14th. It was an error-filled loss. The Dodgers scored 10 runs but only four of them were earned. Pablo Lopez had his first appearance as a long reliever, a role that he might transition into the next season. The First Major league game for Chavis was tough. He went 0 for 3 with a base on ball and a strikeout. He was also credited with an error. Harold Ramirez has been batting okay since coming off the IL and his slash line for his rookie season is .247/.296/.326

The last game of the series against the Dodgers was dominated by Max Muncy's amazing performance. He had 3 home run game. We managed to put some pressure on the Dodgers by scoring two runs against Walker Buehler but the bullpen shut us down. Sergio Romo has finished his time in the waiver list and he refused to be demoted. He was released.

Some roster moves before the first game at Coors Field. Austin Dean was optioned to AAA to make room for Victor Mesa who was eligible to come off the IL. The game was rocky since the start as newbie Brendan McKay was injured in the first inning. Pablo Lopez was in charge of the long relief but he did a poor job. He allowed 5 runs in 3 innings. Tim Anderson had a home run and Michael Chavis is still struggling at the big league level. He had another error and 3 strikeouts at the plate.

Some league news: Luis Severino threw a no-hitter against the Indians at Yankee Stadium

After losing three games in a row we won again behind Caleb Smith's quality outing. He went 6 innings and allowed two runs. Ferrell had the responsibility in the ninth inning and earned his 5th save of the season. Isan Diaz had his 8th home run of the season.

Some league news: Zack Greinke was diagnosed with torn flexor tendon and will be out of action for 10 months. He will lose the rest of the season and a big part of the next one

Probably the worst outing for Tommy Eveld on the season. He gave up three runs, by allowing back to back to back homers, in the 6th and left injured. He was diagnosed with a strained hamstring and he will be going to the 10 day IL. It has been a tough first week for Chavis in the majors, he has gone 0 for 18 and I am wondering if he needs to go back to the minors. It was a difficult week for us.
