We had to travel across the country to play our next interleague series against the White Sox´s. The lineup had a change as we had to incorporate JT Riddle as the DH. He batted in the 6th hole. We won the series opener thanks to a couple of homers by Mike Ford and Isain Diaz. Yamamoto had a decent outing and in spite of Nick Anderson struggles in the 8th inning (he gave up 2 runs) we managed to hold the one-run lead and get our 31st W of the season. Brandon Kintzler is day to day because of some flu-symptoms (not coronavirus

)
It´s been a long time since we´ve had a blow out loss like the one we suffered in game 2 of the series against the White Sox´s. Lucas Giolito had a complete game for the opposing team as we managed to only get 5 base runners in all the game (4 hits and 1 walk). Some of our top pitchers struggled, Zac Gallen and Tommy Eveld. Garret Cooper was the pitcher in the ninth inning making that the second time a position player has taken the mound for us in the season.
It was a series loss against the Sox´s. The last game of the series featured Pablo Lopez against Reynaldo Lopez. Our Lopez was not good and he gave up 7 runs in 2.1 innings pitched. The rest of the pitchers in our bullpen combined for 6 scoreless innings, but that wasn´t enough to catch the Sox´s in the score. Tim Anderson had another home run as Austin Dean did. Victor Mesa has been improving his batting average the last few games after struggling in his first week in the majors.
Some league news: Madison Bumgarner has been traded from the Giants to the Oakland A´s. The trade, that I don't understand, sent Ramon Laureano and Sean Murphy to the Giants.
Wei-Yin Chen, yes he is still in the team, has gone to the 10 day IL after suffering an Elbow inflammation. Brian Moran, the 30-year-old reliever, will be called up from AA, and will make his major league debut.
The new series against the DiamondBacks opened up with an extra-innings loss for us. It was our 70th loss of the season. Caleb Smith had a bad outing, giving up 6 earned runs, and Moran made his debut with a final slash line of 1IP, 2H, 1ER,1K. The loss was credited to Chargois, that had his first bad outing in a Marlins uniform, and gave up 5 earned runs in the top of the 10th. Victor Mesa got 4 hits in 6 at-bats and Mike Ford drove in 3.
Some league news: Christian Yelich was diagnosed with a sports hernia and will miss at least two months. He might be done for the season.
The second game of the series at home against Arizona was probably one of the most exciting games of the season. Jhonatan Losaiga bounced back from a bad outing and went the distance pitching seven innings and allowing only one run. After being down by one run in the ninth, Miguel Rojas, had a run-scoring single to tie it up and Diaz then walk it off with another single up the middle. Riley Ferrel pitch the top of the 9th and was credited with the win. Moran had his second outing in the majors and threw a scoreless eighth.
Some league news: The Phillies made a huge move to boost their rotation by acquiring Jake Odorizzi from the Minnesota Twins. The Twins received 2B- Cesar Hernandez and minor leaguer Aaron Whitefield.
The Sunday game against the DiamondBacks was a tough loss. We were shutout, yet again, and Matt Andreise had a complete game for the opposing team, allowing only 5 hits. Yamamoto had a terrible second inning and gave up 5 runs. Brandon Kintzler was in charge of the long relief and went 4 innings giving up 1 run. A good job by Kintzler that gave the bullpen some time to rest before the final game of the series.
Some league news: Mitch Garver has gone from the Twins to the A´s in exchange for minor leaguer Jharel Cotton.
