Post 2019 Miami Marlins. Bringing back the Florida Marlins glory

*Check out the 2020 season review on the last post of the thread!!
*Check out the 2020 offseason coverage for all the FA signings and trades on the second page !!
*Check out the 2019 postseason coverage on the second page!!

Context:
The game will start on March 18, 2019. After the Nationals lost Harper to the Phillies the NL East seems to be one of the most difficult divisions in all of baseball. The Braves won the division last season, the Phillies got better, the Mets have great talent in their roster and Nationals are still the big favorites to take the division. Being in a division with 4 contenders the Miami Marlins will welcome a partial rebuild. The new GM: Luis Alejandro Restrepo (me) will try to win as many games as he can and develop the young players in a big-league stage.

Manager Settings:
I will be the General Manager and keep Don Mattingly as my first team manager. Mattingly and the Minor league managers will handle the in-game strategy and I will handle the lineups, pitching staff and the depth charts (The minor league staff will handle this for the minor league teams)

Big League Roster evaluation:
*The active roster was automatically set when starting the game and the 40 man roster has currently 28 players.
SP: The current starting rotation is weak. We have one overpaid veteran in Chen, two young arms with medium potential (Gallen (45) and Richards (42)), one young player with potential (Pablo Lopez) and a major league 4-5th starter in Caleb Smith. I will give this 5 players the chance to prove themselves in the majors in the first month.
RP: I will need to add a new pitcher to my active roster because currently, we have only 6 relievers. The ideal closer, Riley Ferrell (Cur:51-Pot:63) will be on the IL for the next 9 weeks. Right now there is no one in relief that is worthy of a mention (Maybe Drew Steickhender but I am hoping to trade him) . Jose Ureña might be an emergency starter during the season and the closer will be Sergio Romo until Ferrell is back. The ideal candidate to fill the open spot in the bullpen will be a proven reliever with a good major league record.
C: The starting catcher job will go to Alfaro in spite of his low ratings. (My scout does not like him) He has power and can be the number 5 hitter. He also has an above-average defense.
IF: The infielder is filled with regular players. I will give a good lineup position to Starling Castro, hoping he gets a good first half and can be dealt with later in the season. I am also excited about Brian Anderson and he will have the 3B job.
OF: As it happens with most positions there is no one very notable in the outfield. I am hoping Lewis Brinson develops more in the kind of player that can be a thread at the top of the lineup. The veteran Granderson will have a chance to prove himself as the starting Left Fielder

The final take of the active roster:
There is an obvious lack of talent and quality in almost every spot in the field. I will start the season with these players hoping some of them have a good first half and can be traded to contending teams for a prospect in July.

Farm System:
There are very few high profile prospects. In AAA there is a couple of SP ready for the big leagues like Sandy Alcantara and Yordan Yamamoto. They will get the chance in MLB very soon. Nick Anderson could be called up from AAA and step up to be the new closer if the bullpen fails to post good numbers. The main position player in the AAA roster is Victor Mesa Mesa than it can be an interesting replacement if the Granderson experiment does not work out. Mangerius Sierra (currently in AA) might also have some major league outfield playing time

Owner goals:
As the GM I have to work to satisfy the owner. The goals for the 2019 season: play close to .500 ball (hopefully the team can achieve that), upgrade at shortstop (probably not going to work hard for that one). For the next season, the owner wants a power hitter a top 20 prospect and build a top 6 farm system. All of this goes in line with what I want to achieve.

Note: I know the OOTP 21 is coming out very soon but I will keep playing XX for the next six months. That is why I am starting this new simulation with the Miami Marlins trying to bring back a ring to Miami like the 1999 Florida Marlins did and build a Dynasty.

Note: I will try to post in this thread the progress of the season (main highlights, movements etc) at the end of each simulated week
