MY LIFE IN 1952
EC Just Havin' Fun in '52, Too!

Well, a big how do you do from Danderoo deep in the heart of Dixie... Danderoo was my alter ego on the radio in the 70s, 80s and 90s... EC toiled as a DJ for 32 years.

How are all of you buckaroos and you little darlin's, too?... it's right smack in the middle of May and I just thought you needed to know what the whole wide USA was swingin' and swayin' to... on the pop charts the number one song was a classical piece, Blue Tango by Leroy Anderson... it would hold on to the number one spot for 5 weeks.

And on the country charts everybody was two-steppin' and singin' along to one of the greatest country song ever, The Wild Side of Life by Hank Thompson and his Brazos Valley Boys... this song would remain in the top spot for 15 weeks in a row... How about that!

Pay attention!... I want you to key in on the steel guitar and the twin fiddles in the song... wow!... the Brazos Valley Boys were great musicians... a superb western swing bank... nearly as good as the Bob Wills' Texas Playboys... and Hank Thompson was just about as good a country singer as you could find... boy, I was really happy the Country Music Association finally put him in the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1989.

Here's a sad saga in song... break out the Kleenex... it's a tearjerker...methinks, it will have EC crying in his Dixie Beer... and yes, I was an empathetic kid and in tuned with my feelings at age 12... just wonderin', what the heck does empathetic mean?
