Except the precedent of not vacating the 2017 title will make vacating the 2018 a practical impossibility. Going back and doing both together (in effect, overturning his original ruling) would make Manfred and MLB look like even bigger wienies than they already appear.
This is only going to get worse, folks. The Asstros have poisoned the game of baseball and ruined it for the vast majority of fans. The Red Sox will make this worse. As has been written, if Howie Kendrick's homer had curved a bit more to the left, we might be looking at the last three World Series needing to be vacated.
As to the sport on the field, all Asstro batters will be thrown at. Altuve and Correa (and is this why he stands alone in contrition?) will be the objects of hard slides at second base. I fear only blood or serious injury will end this for 2020, while the effects linger much like the Black Sox.
Perhaps suspending Altuve in 2020 'for his own good' could cool the situation.
