Must be why they named an award for him
We're coming to that point in Perfect Team where if you've had a player on your team rather regularly, he's probably amassed some ginormous numbers.
I was curious today about Koufax's record in his time with the Flyers...He has started
1066 games & has a record of 495-308. A darn successful pitcher for a darn successful team my most standards...
Cy Young in his 22 seasons started
815 games & has a record of 511-315.
So at first 315 sounded like a lot to me? (300 wins being the gold standard for winning pitchers besides Cy, basically)...but the Flyers' Koufax would have to go 16-7 or better to match this quantity & quality of W-L.
Very well could go either way!
