I'm new to OOTP, but I'm pretty sure I've been playing by most of those rules. I'm only in my second season managing the 1981 and now 1982 Yankees (the crummy years). I think all settings are default, certainly would never use Commissioner Mode or enable force trades or any of those other features that aren't realistic.
There are a couple of very interesting rules that I haven't been playing by - basically, because I don't know how. How do you enforce Rule #8? I've done a dozen or more trades so far, but they're always player for player or players.
