Walkers news: Carmona comes off IL; Schawrtz called up from Memphis
The St. Louis River Walkers have announced a pair of roster moves.
Shortstop Jean Carmona has been called up from AAA Memphis where he was on an injury rehab after suffering a knee injury during spring training.
In six games at Memphis, Carmona had batted .256 with no homers and six RBIs.
Heading down to the Redbirds will by third baseman Myles Austin.
During his brief times in the major, Austin got into five games and batted .400 with a homer and three RBIs.
In another move, the Walkers called up first baseman/third baseman JT Schwartz from the Redbirds.
He's played 11 games at AAA this season, batting .354 with two homers and 10 RBIs.
Heading down to the Redbirds will be outfielder Edwardo Oliveras.
He got into seven games as a Walker, batting .308 with an RBI.
