It's July 1st and I'm looking through the Free Agent list. I noticed that there were quite a few younger players in the list so I opened the filter and change the minimum age to 19 and unchecked the Restricted FAs checkbox.
I hit OK and immediately there are no players under 19 but the Restricted FAs are still there. Is there a way to make that work?
So I check Ilya Sorokin who is 24 and drafted by the Islanders. His profile page shows he's a Restricted FA but in Edit page under League Rights under NHL, it says Free.
So I checked one of my players that should be an RFA, Taro Hirose (I'm Detroit). He is 24 years old but is an Unrestricted FA. I had offered him many contracts during the year with some very bizarre, unexplainable results but I won't get into that now. Hirose has been in the league for only 2 years after spending 3 years at university. He is not 27 so should he should not be a UFA.
Is there something i'm missing with RFAs and UFAs?
