The Frogs find themselves 42-12 (+196) with a 45-9 pythag and a burgeoning 13.5 game division lead. No sir, we ain't getting punked in the wild card game once again this week. Might get punked in the DS, but not in the WC game!

The new alignment for this week (lefty cheese) might not be permanent, but it's mostly having the desired effect. The Lily Pad is now as much of a home field advantage as ever; the squad is 24-4 (.857) at home, vs 18-8 (.692) on the road. 100 Barry Bonds is on pace for 45 HR 159 RBI after being on a 50+ HR pace for most of the week so far. Super Ichiro was flirting with .400 earlier today, but is batting a meager .358 right now. SE George Sisler has returned to the lineup like a prodigal son. He has elbowed 100 Gehrig out of the lineup altogether. Sisler is really enjoying lefty cheese to the tune of .385/.411/.802 10 HR 27 RBI in just 24 starts, most impressive considering almost all of those starts came against lefty pitchers. Sisler is notoriously streaky, however, so he could fall hard and fast.

The pitching staff might be enjoying lefty cheese even moreso than the offense. The team has allowed just 134 runs in 54 games. That's good for a team-wide 2.31 ERA/2.85 FIP. The composite 2.31 team ERA would be a franchise record by a full quarter of a run. And this coming with lefty ballpark factors maxed out. The "worst" pitching performer of the season has been 100 Tom Seaver. Tom Terrific is pitching to a 4.17 ERA, but somehow finds himself with a 12-0 record working exclusively out of the bullpen in long/middle relief. Like a cat that just keeps landing on its feet. It would be rather impressive if Seaver were to post a 36-0 record alongside a 4+ ERA.
