The Frogs say hello from P426 this week. Greetings and salutations.

Just as I was beginning to think there were no other teams with any PL titles in P426, I noticed the 6-time PL champ Billinge Bangers one division over from me. And then I noticed the 2-time PL champ Madison Tycoons one division over from them. So, we neatly have 3 distinct front runners in each of 3 NC divisions all spaced-out-like. The AC is more wide open. My Frogs would qualify as among the whale-iest of the whales in this league.

A confluence of factors have resulted in the Frogs testing out a strategy this week. First of all, the Frogs won 120 games last week but didn't win the division and bowed out ignominiously in the wild card game. Second, you notice how plucky F2P teams employ those lefty-bonzana strategy/trickeration tactics? Why don't whales add this strategy element to an already overpowering roster of cards? Thirdly, finishing a good chunk of fresh collection missions last week leaves me with a surplus of big, thumping lefty bats. Are you seeing where this train of thought is headed? Choo choo...

So, we've gone down "that" dark, strategic (or "cheap," depending on your PoV) path of setting all ballpark factors to maximize lefty bats and minimize righty bats. In this vein, we're trotting out lefty mashers such as 100 Bonds, LIVE Yelich, 95 Fielder, 100 Gehrig, 97 Nettles, 99 Berra, and 94 Sisler. Also lefty/switch-hitting scrappers such as 90 Ichiro, 99 Gilliam, and 100 Ozzie. Poor 'ol SE Appling gets the week off.

And, because we don't do anything half-measure on this team, we're employing the old all-lefty starting staff (99 Brecheen/98 Blue/100 Santana/99 Pennock) on short pitch counts backed up by a stable of fireballing, right-handed pensmen (100 Ruffing/100 Walsh/99 Coveleski/100 Smoltz/100 Seaver...and friends).

So far being cheap seems to be paying dividends. The Frogs are 18-3, racking up PP in achievements, and have a +95 run differential before the end of day 1. What's more is my anticipated main competition--the Billinge Bangers--has an extremely right-handed lineup. And thus might fall face-first into the trap my Frogs are laying...
