Not posting this to be a smart ass. I just remember screaming at the screen during the above game, much like you are doing in regards to a PT game.
I understand what you guys are saying of how relievers were brought in and they blew the game. My point is that I WOULD NEVER do that. This is a baseball manager simulation game and I would like to decide if I bring in my closer or not in a HEAD to HEAD game. I do not like relying on some AI that I can not get to do what I want it to. Like I said before I took everything I knew into consideration and changed all the strategies to the best that the game allows and the game AI still did not do what I wanted it to. I have some other ideas that may work in the future to manipulate the game but it will NEVER EVER work out for anyone as good as a true head to head match will. I'm not sure if you or others have ever played a true live head to head pc baseball game where you call all the shots. It is a much better gaming experience.
I'll say it again OOTP is an overall better baseball simulation then other games but when it comes to head to head it is not near as fun or as exciting or even thought provoking as other games.
Do not get me wrong about this one complaint because overall OOTP is my favorite baseball sim and if I had to pick just one to have it would be OOTP. It is still upsetting that they do not have true head to head matchups.

I also see the examples you guys gave but with my team I don't have such great relievers and my closer had a ton of saves but probably also blew the most saves in the league. So in my case in a head to head matchup I would never ever replace Scherzer who was throwing a 1 hitter (1 single) with 2 BBs and only 95 pitches thrown and he was also on SEVEN days rest. We can talk variables all day long but it still comes down to that none of us can manipulate any PC AI to do what we would want it to if we were playing live head to head. OOTP does a better job simming then any game I know but it will never compare to a live matchup where managers can micro manage any team they want.

I know this upsets other guys also. A couple of seasons ago a guy was pitching a perfect game against me with only 93 pitches thrown and he was winning 12-0.....the AI took out his Koufax perfect game after
8 and 2/3s innings pitched. I think we can all agree that none of us would take a guy out throwing a perfect game in that situation?????
