Maybe slightly less if you can win bronze tournaments with big prizes...but I don't see too many players being overly frugal to ONLY win bronze tournaments...really.

Well, you can only enter 3 tourneys at a time. This encourages specialization. if the rewards are similar at each level, why not specialize at the cheapest level if they all have equal payouts?
