It wasn't decided until the penultimate day of the 1974 regular season, but the Jacksonville Wolf Pack, the reigning WPK champions, have once again won the SJL pennant and will face the Denver Brewers in the WPK World Series as they try to win back-to-back championship trophies.
The Wolf Pack clinched largely thanks to another great start from the ace of their rotation, Juan Maldonado, who becomes just the second pitcher this year to win 20 games (the other, Aaron McNally of Brooklyn, is going for his 25th win in the final game of the season in Denver.)
