And, borderline to me is no more than maybe an inch, especially with regards to inside/outside. An ump should be able to get 100% of inside/outside calls correct, if given that inch. Anything more than that is incompetence. It's either over the plate or it's not. (High/low is more-subjective).
At any rate, that was a terrible spot - crucial moment in a key World Series game - for last night's ump to choke.

Give the umps the help they need
