The Denver Brewers long-time shortstop, Chad Brown, who has re-gained his hold on the starting job with a good couple of months of play after a very slow start to 1974, had his consecutive game hitting streak come to an end today, just shy of 25 straight games. The 24 straight games with at least one hit ties him with Pat Rondeau for longest hitting streak in team history. Rondeau accomplished this just last season and Brown himself had a 21-game streak in 1973.
