Besides age, is there a reason why OF range seems to decrease rapidly for young CFers?

https://imgur.com/a/swJ8RmC. This link provides an example of what I'm referring to. McNatty provides +8.2 ZR in his age 24 season, with above average efficiency. His age 25 season he dips to below average. Heading into his age 26 season he now grades out as a 60 CFer.

McNatty peaked at a defensive rating of 74 in CF according to past scouting reports.

But this seems usual for OOTP. Stud CF prospect comes up, plays CF for two or three year, then requires a move to a corner position. Understand that this is somewhat similar to real life, but still seems like a 26 year old shouldn't be losing THAT much of a step.
