Fellow ootp players, I need some assistence

I have a fictional world with 3 major leagues, and a couple of other independent leagues.

I have ticked the 'lock league total stats' box for every league.

It works like a charm for the 3 major leagues, stat output is roughly the same, each year

But it is different with the independent leagues. Batting average for instance expoded, within 5 years, from .190 to .270

I have tried all sorts of options on the stats & ai tab, but nothing seems to work

The only difference between the major leagues and independent leagues is I changed the player sabermetric modifiers, so the players from the independent leagues would be not as good as the major league players

So, what could be a fix for this?
