Results: My little tournament of seasons

Here's what I did in what set of historical sims experiments (the main one I've done so far really)...

I recorded all the teams since 1942 that won 96 or more games in a single season (or slightly less than that for the 154 game schedules (approx. .595+ win pct.)...there were about 29 x 10.5 (240ish) such teams. Anyway, I played out 21 or 22 or seasons? (maybe 25 but not less than 21?)...and recorded the World Series from each league.

This left me with some of the very best teams in baseball since 1942. I believe 4 early 1970s Reds teams all won their league.

Anyway I took those 22-25 or 29? teams that were "left" and put them in a single league of champions of champions...

I do not remember all the details but I do know this:

The four final teams (league championship contestants) were the 2012 or 2009 New York Yankees, 1988 New York Mets, one of the Big Red Machine teams from the early '70s and one of the San Francisco Giants teams from the early '90s.

And I do know the 2012 or 2009 New York Yankees defeated the 1988 New York Mets in the World Series.

Some other teams I remember doing well in this simulations were the early 1970s Pirates, early '70s A's, late 60s/early70s Orioles, some of the '50s Dodgers and Yankees teams although all of the teams pre-1970 were generally outplayed by the teams 1980-present...

That's about it for now. If you had any ?s, I might recall a few other things about the simulated seasons to declare a best dang team since 1942 using OOTP 18.
