Of my teams, only the South Side Lumber Co, with a full season of 100 Big Ed, 99 Aches and Pains and 97 Shoeless Joe, are a mathematical certainty to make the playoffs. And actually, it's the newest acquistion, Cisco Carlos, that has been the team MVP with his 16-4 record (OK, Big Ed's 7.8 WAR through Sept. 4 isn't bad, either).
The Team that Shall Not Be Named is also doing well, with a 98.4% chance of the playoffs. After that, it's the Redlegs (58.1% and rejuvenated in Diamond), Tribe and Monarchs (both 56%) that have the best chances of October baseball in, well, actual October.
The Nashville Game Theories (44.2%) and Thetford Mines Mineurs (39.9%) have reasonable chances but will need some breaks to go their way. Are we seeing the point where the Mineurs have passed the Froggies? Maybe, as the Aquasox only have a 3.7% chance of making the playoffs and, frankly, have had to hustle the past two months to even get to that point.
