Walkers news: May 26 -- Twin Cities 5, St. Louis 4

Record: 21-29, 5th, 6.5 GB Springfield
Traded in the offseason after two mediocre campaigns in St. Louis, Byron Buxton got some payback hitting a three-run home run off River Walkers closer Edwin Diaz in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Twin Cities a 5-4 win at the Metrodome (1996).
With the victory, the Snow Cats took two of three games with the River Walkers.
Jonathan India led off the bottom of the 10th with a single and moved to second when Eloy Jimenez drew a walk from Diaz.
Diaz struck out Jake Burger.
With the count at 0-1, Buxton turned on a Diaz pitch hitting hit 362 feet into the left-field seats for a three-run homer.
Jimenez had singled off Walkers reliever Kenley Jansen in the eighth inning, and after a Jake Burger double had moved him to third, scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-1.
However, the Walkers tied it in the top of the ninth.
Larry Ernesto leading off with a single and scoring on a Jean Carmona double, after he had stole second base.
St. Louis tallied twice in the top of the 10th.
Romy Gonzalez with an RBI triple and then scoring on a Joe Gatto wild pitch.
That set the stage for Buxton's big blast.
Twin CIties starter Carson Fulkmer worked 4.2 innings, allowing one run on three hits.
The Cats used five relievers after Fuler.
Mike Shawaryn carried the biggest load, working 2.1 scoreless innings.
He was followed by Johnathon Cooper (1.0 IP), Pedro Fernandez (1.0). Hunter Hembee (0.1) and Gatto (0.1) who struck out Ernesto to to set himself up for the win, improving to 1-2 on the season.
