Actually, Washington had not yet clinched a tie, but now that they have won the first two games of their series with Augusta, Augusta MUST win out to have a chance at the league title. Depending on how those two games go, Kentucky might be able to tie Augusta, but if they don't, they will finish third. Brooklyn and everyone below them is locked into their respective final positions for the season with two games left to play.
Sarahnapool closes the gap to one game behind Amjasi, by beating Amjasi in game 104 by a score of 8-2. But they still must win, to have a chance to advance.
Seven games are left for each team in the SCL regular season, in both the George and Abraham Leagues. Aberdeen (74-31), Potomac (73-32), and the Tri-City ValleyCats (69-36) are still alive in the George League, while Mobile, Bowie, Hickory, Bristol, and Biloxi are out. Either Biloxi or Bristol in that subleague will be relegated to the EDA after the post-season is over in the SCL. As for the Abraham League, only Staten Island, South Bend, and Reno can win there. Staten Island and South Bend are tied at 62-43, and Reno is four games back of them both. The game currently gives Staten Island the edge for the Abraham League title. Teams below Reno are, in current order, Princeton, Modesto, Lake Elsinore, Reading, and Grand Junction. Everyone above Reading is safe from possible relegation to the EDA. Grand Junction is three back of Reading, and is more likely to be relegated than Reading is.
Princeton can still potentially catch Reno, but chances are not good for them to be able to do that. The best the Nuts can do, depending on how things play out, is to catch, but not pass, Reno. The Storm can't catch anyone from Reno and up, and are quite likely to finish fifth or sixth. At best, Reading can catch Lake Elsinore, and at worst, fall below Grand Junction. The best the Rockies can do is 47 wins, but Reading has 43 now. So chances are quite good that Grand Junction will finish in the cellar of the Abraham League, leaving Reading still in the SCL.
More information later, obviously. CD out.
