Well, that was quick. I should have made a separate thread on this but now it's too late. It's like it's old news.
The Twins made short work of the record that the Yankees set last year for most home runs as a ballclub in one season. And it was still August.
The goofs at MLB now have a choice. Ditch the juiced-up baseball, making 2019 an outlier year for all sorts of home run records which will stand out like a sore thumb. Or, keep the baseball the way it is now and look for a new plateau of power in the game, with corresponding records that make sense going forward.
Frankly, now that the damage has been done, the latter may be the way to go.
