Brian Snyder A's 1989
Brian Snyder was a left-hander out of Flemington, New Jersey (famous for Flemington Furs, which I often saw advertised when rding on Route 22 from New York to Philadelphia). After bouncing around with a couple of organizations he finally got a major league shot with the Mariners in 1985. The M's staff was wracked by injuries that year, and they wound up using 21 pitchers. Snyder got into 17 games, six of them starts, and went 1-2, 6.37 with 1 save in just over 35 innings. He surfaced again with the juicy 1989 A's, getting less than an inning of ML work before disappearing forever. He made the '86 Topps set with Seattle but until recently the only major league image of him with Oakland was a tiny, blurred glimpse in the back row of a team photo. The attached shot is black and white and not terribly big, but the quality is quite good. I found it on a page devoted to major leaguers from Clemson University.
