NEWCOMERS DOING WELL IN NIRL FIRST DIVISION
After three weeks of play in the North Island First Division, the two newcomers, Dutton and Jackson, are riding high in first place with spotless 3-0 records... holdover club New Yerby (2-1) is in the third spot... last year's champion Kofa is off to a slow start at 1-2... winless and in the cellar are Union Heights and Stockdale, both 0-3.

Jackson topped Union Heights 11-6... Dutton trashed Stockdale 7-2 and New Yerby outlasted arch rival Kofa 8-5 in 10 innings.
