I don't see it as any worse than the starting times of seasons/playoffs which really cripple people who live in different parts of the globe. That would be something people would have to accept over time.
Besides, it could also be set so that you can set a "call up order" for injury replacements.
Also, this might be something that makes more sense to implement when the app is actually up and running...this way, most people should be able to log in real quick and make the adjustments they want.
However, and I've alluded to it earlier, this might make more sense in a tournament. That way, if you don't like it, you don't sign up for it.
