Ricky Cavazos looked to get his season on track after earning a 14.73 ERA in only 3.2 innings during his first start of the season. In his was Alberto Sanchez, who earned the win on July 8th, despite his 7.36 ERA.

A Daniel Chiadez triple in the bottom of the first made it easy for East Driftwood take an early lead. West Driftwood tied the game in the top of the fourth after Janicki threw wide of third base in an attempt to prevent a stolen base, allow Brian Swift to head home. East Driftwood took the lead back on a pair of extra base hits in the bottom of the fifth. The score held until the end of the game, with Aaron Reisinger making a dramatic diving catch to deny a game-tying run.
