After East Driftwood’s three-title run ended in 1981,West Driftwood went on a three-year run of their own. The teams traded wins in 1984 and 1985 before East Driftwood entered their longest unbeaten run, winning four consecutive titles between 1987 and 1990. After trading the title back and forth and a handful of two-year streaks, West Driftwood had the next major streak as they won the title every year between 1997 and 2001 and then again between 2003 and 2006.
