DUTTON WINS NIRL SECOND DIVISION
The Dutton Coyotes are the champion of the North Island Recreational League Second Division's inaugural season... and they did it in heroic action... they whipped their prime rival face-to-face... on the road in Jackson, Dutton torched the Jackalopes 9-5 and eliminated them from pennant contention... heading into the final game of the season, the Coyotes are 20-9 and the Jacks are 17-12.
Kinston and Joliet continued their tussle for the third spot in the standings... it's still up for grabs... the Green Giants nudged Theodore 1-0, while the Firebirds bit the dust in West Chester 3-1... Joliet and the Kinston are now tied with 14-15 records.
The West Chester Comets (12-17) and Theodore Bobcats (10-19) are destined to finish near the bottom of the league... the Comets have locked up the number-five slot... and the Bobcats have clinched the cellar.
