KOFA IN DRIVER'S SEAT IN NIRL 1ST
The top team in the North Island Recreational League First Division, Kofa, survived a close 1-0 encounter with fifth place Wafford, while second place New Yerby was falling to fourth place Stockdale 9-7 in a homer fest... third place Union Heights was victorious over last place Avalon 2-0.
Kofa now leads the league by two games with only three games to play... Avalon will lose its spot in the First Division... the Oldtimers, along with either Stockdale or Wafford , will be relegated to the Second Division next season... the lower two teams in the NIRL First Division swap spots with the top two teams in the NIRL Second Division.
