Why Southern Southpaws got so good the last few seasons
So... for a long time, my Southpaws team was my worst team... it was mediocre at best. It somehow got to a playoff in the first few seasons that took it to Diamond level, but was horrible after that point.. in fact, getting relegated back to gold after a few seasons.
Then about four weeks ago, I drew Willie Mays (99) in a challenge mode pack. I sold him for 158k, netting about 143k PP.
It's pretty amazing how 143k PP can turn around a team. The next season I won over 100 games in Gold, moved to diamond, and then last year in Diamond, I won 109 games, meanwhile, I made my team OL - compliant. I lost in the first round of the playoffs so the team is back in Diamond facing other OL teams this year.
Not doing so well in our OL games this year, but it does appear that the team will win at least 100 games this year too.
Good luck, everyone in the playoffs! Of course, I won't mind so much if I lose in the first round again... this team excels in Diamond, not sure how it will do in Perfect (but I do expect it is now my "best" team).
