The mid-week blues are running amok...but not for the Amazin's. They are 27-14 in their last 41 games and that has pushed them into a 4 game lead in the NC Eastern Division.
Some notable performances so far include Mike Piazza hitting .280 with 17 HR and 51 RBI. Already well on pace to exceed his numbers from last season. Newcomer Gregg Jefferies is starting to really roll now, hitting .320 with 15 HR and 43 RBI. Mickey Lolich has gone undefeated in his first 13 starts, going 7-0 with a 2.76 ERA.
Perhaps this is the season we get out of Iron, but we've got too far to go before we can think about it.
