Jim Tobin 1937

"There has been some controversy here of late over "fake" images and cap swaps. I don't care for the swap in most cases. I have done them from time to time as a favor to fulfill a niche request or need (i.e. player x only saw action in 2 games with a certain club in 1934 so a real image is unlikely to be found) but recently have been bombarded with these sorts of requests. Why not focus on players with no color images rather than cherry picking players from different eras at random to try to make your complete collection? If a good image doesn't exist why push itt? "

I could not agree more with this sentiment and in the light of the viewpoint articulated it appears that my comments about this thread losing it's authenticity may have been premature , I hope it can now maintain this course. In this spirit I am happy to share from my files the attached image of Tobin with Detroit from 1945 which I believe complies with the above philosophy. Maybe also it would be a positive move to attach a systematic approach to MLB player colorizations, rather than a scattershot approach, using whatever approach that you believe to be appropriate. I attempted to illustrate that with the 1937 Brooklyn Dodger images.

Image 2028 is clearly counterfeit as it does not represent the 1945 uniform.
